College Football Playoff Scenarios

The football season is in the back stretch. Seniors are playing their final home games and for those who aren't going to a bowl game their last snaps of collegiate football are upon them. Tonight though the college football playoff committee will release it's third rankings. It'll be interesting to see where everyone ends up, but they'll still be controversy at the end of the day.

Four out of the 5 teams ranked 6-10 lost on Saturday basically eliminating themselves from playoff consideration. An a one loss Oklahoma looks to make it's move as they knocked off the number 6 undefeated Baylor Bears on the road last week. So there are still a lot of moving parts in all this. I wrote out how I think the playoffs are going to turn out at the end of the season. I didn't just the pick four teams I gave you eight teams that I think can make the final four at the end of the season and the scenarios needed.

College Football Playoff

Ohio State/Iowa
    • As long as both these teams are undefeated when they play each for the Big Ten championship
    • Key Game: Big Ten Championship

    • As long as they win out
    • Key game: SEC Championship vs Florida
    • Florida gets in with a win over Alabama in the SEC Championship, a Notre Dame or a one loss Big Ten Champion, and finishing with only one loss.

Oklahoma/Oklahoma State
    • As long as the winner of this matchup wins out.
    • Key game: Bedlam

Clemson
    • has to go undefeated
    • Key game: ACC Championship vs North Carolina
    • If Clemson loses Notre Dame gets in as long as the Irish win out.
